Ordering

How do I know the artist is real?

Every artist on Calico goes through a verification process before listing. We check government ID, verify ownership of past works, and often visit studios in person for our featured artists. The "✓ Verified" seal only appears on artists who have passed this review.

Can I cancel or change my order?

You can cancel any order until the artist has shipped it — usually within 1–2 business days of placing. After shipping, follow our 14-day return process.

Do I need an account to buy?

You can check out as a guest. We recommend creating an account so you can track your order, message the artist, and see release of escrow — but it's not required.

What if an item is out of stock?

Many of our pieces are one-of-a-kind. If you miss it, save the artist and we'll notify you when they list new work — or request a custom commission in a similar style.

Payment & Escrow

What is Calico Escrow?

When you pay, your money is held safely by Calico — not sent to the seller yet. Funds release to the artist only after you confirm the piece arrived as described. You have 14 days to raise any issue.

What payment methods are accepted?

Credit & debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Amex), Bit (for Israeli buyers), Apple Pay, and Google Pay. Bank transfers are available for orders over ₪5,000 on request.

Is my payment information secure?

Yes. All payments are processed via AllPay, certified PCI-DSS Level 1. We never see your card details. For added safety, enable two-factor authentication in your account settings.

Shipping

How long does delivery take?

Inside Israel: 3–5 business days for standard, 1–2 for express. International: 5–10 business days via DHL Express. Custom commissions follow the lead time the artist confirms at order.

How much does shipping cost?

Standard shipping in Israel is free for orders over ₪500. Express and international rates calculate at checkout based on weight and destination.

Is my piece insured during transit?

Yes. Every shipment is insured up to the full declared value. If anything goes wrong, Calico handles the claim — you never deal with the courier directly.

Returns & Refunds

What is your return policy?

You have 14 days from delivery to request a return. Each artist sets their specific return policy on their product pages; most accept returns for any reason, with the buyer covering shipping back.

How do refunds work?

Once the artist confirms receipt of the returned piece in original condition, your refund processes within 3 business days back to your original payment method.

For Artists

How do I apply to sell?

Visit our "Sell on Calico" page and submit an application with your portfolio. Our team reviews every artist before approval — usually within one business day.

What's the commission?

Flat 6% marketplace fee on every sale, plus standard 1.3% + ₪1.5 payment processing. No subscriptions, no listing fees, no surprise charges.

International

Do you ship outside Israel?

Yes. We ship to most countries via DHL Express. Rates and lead times calculate at checkout. Buyers are responsible for any import duties in their country.

Custom Commissions

Can I commission a custom piece?

Yes. Most artists accept commission requests. Use the "Message artist" button on any product page to discuss your idea, budget, and timeline.

Account & Privacy

How do I delete my account?

You can request account deletion in your account settings. We comply with GDPR and Israeli privacy law — your data deletes within 30 days.
